  • Students may go the library to work on their bibliography cards.  Five bibliography cards are due on Wednesday.  Students may begin taking notes for their research paper if they feel comfortable and know how.

  • Students who finish early may work on the blog question or their Grendel Character Analysis essay, which is due on Wednesday.

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

  • Students will each choose two characters from The Prologue to The Canterbury Tales (in their literature book)… but every character should be covered between the students in the class… list characters and student names on board to help assign them.

  • Students should read and summarize the passage about their characters.  The summaries should be written down in Cornell note format (physical appearance, actions, personality, job, social status, etc.)

  • Students will then create a paper-bag puppet based on their summaries.  The paper-bag puppets should be attractive and colorful.  I will supply the paper bags, but students will be responsible for creating the puppets on their own.

  • A few students may go to Hocutt to locate construction papers, scissors, markers, etc., for the rest of the class, but they should be certain to return those materials to Hocutt before class ends.  The room should be clean and neat before students leave.

  • The puppets are due on Wednesday and will be presented along with the summaries to the class.
