Ms. Hargraves’ English 12 Honors Class

Discussions, homework, links, announcements, projects, lessons, news

Monday, February 11 February 11, 2008

Filed under: Agenda — hargraves @ 4:08 pm

We began class by looking at the blog and discussing the blog question from last week–potential community projects and mentors.  We then talked about several aspects of the research paper, including the following:

  • Format: Title page, outline, text, and Works Cited page
  • Introductions and Conclusions
  • In-text citations

I’ve placed a link on this blog for an example of a paper in correct MLA format.  Please refer to this example to make sure your paper is on the right track.  Rough drafts are due this Friday.  Wednesday will be an extra day for you to work on completing your draft.

I distributed copies of Macbeth to everyone.  We then read Scene 1 and talked about the theme, setting, and mood.  Tomorrow, we’ll move on to Scenes 2, 3, and 4.

I ended class with time for questions about the final outlines and the research paper.  See you all tomorrow!

Be sure to respond to the new discussion question on the blog by Sunday, February 17.  Thanks.

    Hargraves,

I found this neat site and I wanted to share it with you and the class. People send in homemade postcards and put a secret on the postcard. So, they are sharing their secret while remaing anonymous. I think it is a beautiful thing. And the postcards are really neat. The site is updated on Sunday.

It is new to me, but maybe people already know about it. I dont know?
